Digitization is finding its way into all areas of human activity, triggering major changes. For the sensitive area of the health care system, this development opens up a spectrum of completely new possibilities and, at the same time, risks.
For example, while the digital capture of patient data and computer-assisted ordinations, hospitals, and healthcare facilities are well established meanwhile, there are many areas of healthcare, where digitization, automation, the implementation of technology-assisted interventions, and algorithmic processes will lead to massive changes.
What does this mean for the future of the Austrian healthcare system?
In the name of the Academia Superior, the Vinzenz Group and the Elisabethinen Linz-Wien, this question was worked on in two workshops in May 2019 with selected experts.
The result are 10 theses on the future of the healthcare system.
