At a workshop at ACADEMIA SUPERIOR twelve students from different fields and from eight Austrian universities came together with Markus Hengstschläger to discuss the future of freedom. The aim was to develop fresh visions of how our freedom could be preserved in the face of numerous future threats.
Freedom, Responsibility and Tolerance
One of the results: Freedom is a cornerstone of our society. But it can only be obtained when it’s lived in accordance with responsibility and tolerance (not to be understood as indifference). Consequently, it was one of the recommendations of the students for our politics to empower more people to take responsibility for their own actions.
„Today, we are as free as never before in history. We can make more self-determined decisions than ever”, said Markus Hengstschläger in the discussion with the engaged young people.
The students will discuss their visions of „freedom” with the international experts at the 6th Surprise Factors Symposium in Gmunden in March.
